With weekend just around the corner, it is time to release some stress, tuck in yourself with a comfy blanket and watch a heartwarming feel-good movie that will lift your spirits right up! Here are our Top 10 favourite feel-good films that will definitely prove to be good stress busters.


1. The Intern (2015):

Robert De Niro (Ben Whittaker) works as an intern to Anne Hathaway (Jules), the CEO of ‘About the Fit’ online fashion store. This new boss-intern relationship brings some really heartwarming moments in the film. She teaches him to set up his Facebook account and becomes his first FB friend… and eventually his best friend! This is one of my favourite feel-good films of all time. If you are even feeling slightly low, this film will make you feel comfortable and cozy.


2. Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990)

Genre: Science-Fiction/ Adventure

Doc Brown is a quirky and weird scientist who somehow invents something working for the first time; Time Machine. Back to the Future Trilogy focuses on Doc Brown and his assistant Marty McFly as they travel back and forth through the space-time continuum. Their adventures take them 30 years back, to the Wild Wild West and a Futuristic 2015. Accompanying the protagonists is their cute little dog Einstein, who also happens to be the first-time traveler in the film. This timeless classic will surely leave you with a big smile on your face.


3. Wall- E (2008):

Genre: Animation/ Sci-fi

I never thought I can root for two robots this much! (The exception being R2D2 and 3PO from Star Wars). Wall E is the only robot left on uninhabitable earth. He finally finds a new friend EVE who is a sleek new robot on a mission on the earth. Things change when EVE is taken away by a spaceship. The love story of these two little robots is the cutest love story I have ever seen!


4. Amelie (2001):

Genre: Romance/ Comedy

Amelie is a light hearted fantasy film who revolves around Amelie (Audrey Tautou) who had a lonely childhood yet she finds solace in helping people and fixing their lives, even if it means punishing the evil (which turns out to be really funny). The film has a good mix of eccentric characters and heartwarming moments.


5. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019):

Genre: Comedy/ Adventure

The film begins with Zak, a young man with Down syndrome runs away from a nursing home to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. On his way, he meets Tyler, a tough fisherman who eventually becomes his friend and coach. Together, they dance, wrestle, train, drink whisky and escape from goons. They also meet Eleanor (the charming and gorgeous Dakota Johnson) who joins them in their crazy adventure. Filled with adventurous and beautiful moments, this film is a delight to watch!


6. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009):

Genre: Comedy/ Animation

Fantastic Mr. Fox is an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book with the same name. It is a sweet and charming tale of Mr. Fox and his family who are stealing from the nearby farms and takes you on an adventure in their small whimsical world with quirky characters. This film will surely make you want to drop everything and constantly admire the action on screen. George Clooney as Mr. Fox will charm you in a way no one would have done earlier.


7. Spirited Away (2001):

Genre: Animation/ Fantasy

Spirited Away is Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece! This film is so good that you can’t take your eyes off even for one second! The film revolves around a young girl Chihiro, who gets trapped in a strange magical world of spirits. She sets out on an adventurous journey and faces different challenges to free her parents who have transformed into pigs. The film has emotional, adventurous, and heartwarming moments which will lift your spirits right up!


8. Silver Linings Playbook (2012):

Genre: Romance/ Drama

“Excelsior!”- This is literally the mantra of the film. The film is brimming in optimism against all odds. Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) and Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), who are suffering from mental health issues and broken relationships find each other and develop a beautiful relationship. But this is not just a girl meets a boy and they fall in love against all odds kind of love story, there is so much more to the film than that. The film shows their struggle, relationships, breakdowns, and their optimism. The climax scene is so exciting, funny and heartwarming that it will make you root for the characters.


9. Good Will Hunting (1997):

Genre: Drama/ Romance

Will Hunting (Matt Damon) is a math genius, wayward and crippled by his past which haunts and restricts him to commit and trust. The film is an emotional rollercoaster as you experience life with Will. The film boasts of gut-wrenching scenes, hilarious anecdotes, friendly banter and selfless love. Watch out for the scenes with Robin Williams and Matt Damon, you may laugh out loud while trying to control your tears.


10. Little Miss Sunshine (2006):

Genre: Comedy/ Road/ Drama

Little Miss Sunshine is story of a family who sets on a journey to California in a cute yellow van when their daughter wants to participate in a beauty pageant. Obstacles come in their way as they bond in a completely new way. The characters are quirky and colourful. It really bums you out to see Steve Carell depressed initially, but it all turns out good and funny.
